I don't know about you but I very rarely put DVDs on at home and if I do it's a much loved favourite I choose to watch
What with SKY and my regular library rentals there's not often an opportunity to delve into my own collection and I found space was just being taken up unnecessarily with DVDs that I was unlikely to watch - not to mention that I hadn't watched some of them over the past year!
We've all seen the Music Magpie adverts on TV and inspired by a friend who had successfully used their service I went through my DVD collection as part of de-cluttering my living room
I managed to clear out 39 DVDs (and a few CDs - what with iTunes they are no longer needed) and earned approx £30 in M&S vouchers!
Not bad for items serving no real purpose other than cluttering up my sideboard (which since de-cluttering now has 3 empty draws and 1 empty cupboard!!)
It's such a simple service to use, you enter your items (for info I found most DVDs were 30p each depending on the titles), box them up, print off the FREEPOST labels and take to your post office
All that's left for me to do is surf the M&S website and pick out something nice as treat for me - definitely worth the effort!
what a smashing idea to declutter the dvds collection! unfortunately most of my dvds collection belong to my husband who do love watching them again and again like a boxset of Dr.Who or Star Trek hahaha so i think i'll be in trouble if i get rid of them but i think i'll note this down and who knows he might change his mind hehe xx susan
